Information > COVID-19

April 14, 2020

Due to current pandemic situation brought by COVID-19, and the consequent growing number of countries issuing travel restrictions or visa service suspensions, after having monitored the worldwide scenario for several weeks and after internal discussions with all the parties involved, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 18th Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry Conference to next year, 2021.

The venue won't change, so the conference will still take place in Courmayeur/Chamonix, and the period will be very likely the same planned for this year (official dates will be communicated at the soonest).
All the updates will be posted on the official conference page, but feel free to ask any questions by contacting us at cac2020@sciencesconf.org.

Thank you very much for your understanding in the complex situation.

 March 11, 2020

Dear colleagues, perspective CAC participants, friends,

as you may have already seen, the abstract submission system has already been active for some weeks and we were planning to launch today the registration system, which is also ready and fully operative.

At the same time, as many of you we are watching with great interest and the situation related to the COVID-19 and closely monitoring its evolution. So far, our thoughts are with those affected in our countries and globally.

Anyway, while closely monitoring the situation about the virus, we will also keep moving forward with plans to deliver an exceptional CAC meeting, with the sincere hope that the virus outbreak will come to a swift end and all affected will recover fully.

However, we understand that at the time speaking the only possible decision for most of us when it comes to travelling plans is to freeze things that can be frozen and wait until the situation improves all over the world, hopefully. With this in mind, since the health and safety of our members, attendees, their students, our staff, partners and our communities are our top priority, we have decided to postpone all the deadlines to April 30, date at which some decision will have to be taken, first of all based on the evolution of the global situation and, secondly but not less relevantly, on the number of abstract received but also on external factors such as the policy of the institutions supporting our conference or the cities hosting our event.

If you have any questions or comments, the Organizing Committe welcomes any feedback and will respond to your inquiries (cac2020(at)sciencesconf.org). Further information can be found on the conference website where we will be posting regular updates.
